Movie review

A Scanner Darkly is an animated science-fiction film made in 2006 by Richard Linklater. The movie and all of it's characters were entirely brought to life by using the animation technique of Rotoscope. The movie seemed very complex i'll give it that.. But it wasnt really my kind of movie so I wasn't overly interested.

animation overview

watched some older animations today in class. As included we watched ones such as 'The man without a shadow' (2004 made by a guy in Switerland), 'Rabbit' (2005 made by a British person) as well as 'Tale about the cat and the moon' (2010 made by someone from Portugal).

I particularly enjoyed the animation 'Rabbit' as it was such a unique combination of creepy and humorous. A dreamlike but dark story of lost innocence and the random justice of nature, told with curious images from a distant childhood. When an idol is found in the stomach of a rabbit, great riches follow. But for how long? The characters are strangely animated and stiff but the actions they preform are completely unexpected. Made for an entertaining animation to watch..XD
